Unleashing the Internet of Things and the Future of Intelligent Buildings.  An intelligent building utilizes communication technology to integrate building systems which allow for intersystem connection and coordination.  This convergence sets the stage for an environment that is safer, more sustainable, comfortable, efficient and productive.  We will Identify the important trends in the building industry that influence the technology inside the building and beyond.  Discuss security trends and requirements at it relates to Intelligent Buildings.


Tom Sorrell, RCDD, LEED AP BD+C, NICET, CHC, leads the Technology Solutions Group at CMTA Consulting Engineers and is based in Louisville Kentucky.  He specializes in Technology/Security and has been in the industry for 30 years.  Tom is a member of the Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Smart and Intelligent Buildings Standards Committee and the BICSI Speaker’s Bureau.  He regularly presents as a subject matter expert on Technology Design and best practices.
